Toledo, Ohio – Toledo Escort Agency is facing accusations that it is trafficking underage girls for prostitution in Ohio.
A report published by the Toledo News-Sentinel alleges that the agency is trafficking teenaged girls for sex in the Toledo area.
In a press release issued Thursday, the agency says that they are “aware of the allegations and we take them seriously.”
“Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our clients, and we will do everything possible to hold those responsible accountable,” the release said.
“Our investigation is ongoing, and if we discover any additional evidence, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement,” the agency said.
The news outlet also reported that a Toledo police officer was arrested on Friday in connection with the alleged trafficking.
Authorities say the Toledo Escorting Agency is in charge of hiring and transporting underage girls to other states for prostitution.
In the report, the News-Valley claims that the Toledo escorts have a business model that involves the hiring of a prostitute and then transporting the girl back to Toledo to work as a “brothel escort.”
The news agency says it was contacted by a woman who said she was 18 when she met an agent at the agency who “tried to force her to do sex work and sold her for sex, all in exchange for a commission.”
“I was just 17, and she had a whole lot of money and was willing to sell me for money,” the woman told the news outlet.
“She took me to her home and I slept with her all night.
I don’t know what I was doing.”
The agency says the agents in the investigation were not employed by the agency.
